has appointed former Eastspring figure Benjarong Techamuanvivit (pictured) to the newly-created role of head of Thailand Business.
Techamuanvivit will report to Christian Bucaro, head of retail for Asia at Franklin Templeton. She will be based in Singapore.
With more than 20 years of industry experience in Thailand’s financial services industry, Techamuanvivit previously worked as deputy managing director, head of corporate strategy, product, digital and marketing at Eastspring Asset Management (Thailand) Co.
While based in Thailand, she also served in various senior roles at leading asset management companies and banks including Kasikorn Asset Management, Manulife Asset Management (Thailand), Deutsche Bank and Citibank. She holds an MBA from the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration and a BA from Chulalongkorn University.
Simmons & Simmons
, the international law firm, has appointed Angelia Chia as a partner in the banking and finance team in Singapore.
Chia brings more than 25 years of experience in trade and commodity finance. She has a breadth of experience in advising financial institutions and corporate clients on a variety of trade finance and structured commodity finance matters, including setting up templates and advising on disputes.
Among other roles, Chia is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce Legal Committee, the BAFT Asia Committee and speaks at many industry events on thought leadership. Before joining Simmons & Simmons, she was a partner of Mayer Brown where she co-led the Asia Trade, Commodities & Structured Finance team and provided legal advice on corporate lending and transactions. Prior to that, she led global legal teams at a major bank.
